Who Should Buy Arctis Nova 5X?
Good fit
Choose the Arctis Nova 5X if you play across Xbox and other devices and want one headset for that mix. Its compact USB-C dongle supports Xbox, PC, PlayStation, Switch, Meta Quest, phones, and tablets.
It also suits players who value long battery intervals, quick switching to Bluetooth, and app-based presets for supported games. The on-ear controls cover core adjustments without requiring the app for every change.
Who should skip it
Look elsewhere if active noise cancellation or a hot-swappable battery system is central to your setup; those features are not part of the Arctis Nova 5X’s described design.
It may not suit buyers whose devices cannot use 2.4GHz wireless or Bluetooth, since these are the headset’s stated wireless options.
Arctis Nova 5X Review Analysis
Wireless switching across devices
The headset combines a compact USB-C dongle for console and computer connections with Bluetooth for calls or media.
The tap-to-switch approach is useful for players who move between gaming audio and a phone, while incoming-call beeps can make that transition easier to notice mid-session.
Battery and charging rhythm
A 60-hour battery is well suited to frequent play between charging sessions, and USB-C fast charge offers a useful recovery option when the headset is low.
The stated charging example is 6 hours of use after 15 minutes, which can help with shorter breaks.
Preset audio and controls
The companion app adds more than 100 game audio presets, while built-in ChatMix and volume controls let players adjust game and audio balance at the headset.
This combination suits buyers who want both tailored game profiles and immediate physical controls.
Retractable microphone
The ClearCast microphone retracts into the headset and uses a high-bandwidth chipset supporting 32KHz/16Bit audio.
That design keeps the boom stowable between calls or multiplayer sessions; buyers who rely on calls outdoors should check how it handles wind before choosing it.
